What: 2012 MS Gala & Fashion Show, presented by DBS Financial

Where: Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale

The lowdown: More than 1,200 supporters of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, South Florida Chapter, are expected to attend one of the area's most prestigious annual luncheons. Since its inception 29 years ago, the event has raised more than $5 million for the cutting-edge research, programs and services that the National MS Society provides for the 6,000-plus people in South Florida living with the disease. This year's event will honor Carol Lasek, the founding partner of Bienfeld, Lasek & Starr, LLC.

Auction/raffle: In addition to an array of silent auction items, there will be a grand raffle. Prizes include a day in New York with renowned fashion designer Pamela Dennis valued at $7,500; a stainless steel "Happy Sport Chrono" watch from Chopard valued at $10,240; and a 7-day, 6-night trip to Germany valued at $3,600.

Fashion: Designer Pamela Dennis—exclusive to Bergdorf Goodman in New York, and Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills—will debut her jaw-dropping spring collection at the luncheon.
