Sweet tidings for downtown Lake Worth this summer when a new Hoffman’s Chocolates shop is slated to make its debut, the first outlet in a long-planned expansion said to include Delray Beach, West Palm, Boca Raton and Boynton, among others. The Lake Avenue Hoffmans takes over the old Theatrics of Lake Worth space next to Fiorentino’s, and will reportedly offer Hoffman’s usual extensive array of chocolate treats, as well as ice cream, cupcakes and frozen yogurt. July is the projected opening date.

It’s full speed ahead now for former Havana Hideout chef-owner Chrissy Benoit, who’s signed a lease for the 1940-vintage Ruth Jones Cottage in Boynton Beach with an eye towards a June opening as a casual neighborhood restaurant called The Little House. Look for such features as the building’s coral rock fireplace and Dade County pine ceiling beams to be retained, also for a roster of 32 draft beers and a moderately priced menu of eclectic modern American comfort food eats.

And not much detail here but the old Foxy’s ice cream shop and café at 12 SE 5th Ave. in Delray Beach is set to become HiWay Burger. Nothing but a static-page website to go on right now, but word on the street is that it’s a knockoff of the West Coast’s wildly popular In-N-Out Burger. Hey, if you’re going to copy, why not copy success?
