Deck 84, Henry’s and Bogart’s owner Burt Rapoport has added to his stable of eateries with something completely different: E & J’s Sandwich Shop (814 Atlantic Ave., 561/826-1790), a casual, eat in-take out spot that opened last week in the space once occupied by Delray’s Old School Bakery.

Named for Deck 84 chef Jon Greening and GM Eric Clark, the tiny indoor space with the sheltered (and misted) 30-seat outdoor patio is just up Atlantic Avenue from Deck and will be open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Pastries, granola and egg sandwiches are among the breakfast offerings. For the rest of the day sandwiches (on Old School Bakery bread) include all the usual meat and cheesy subject, along with sammie specialties like a foot-long all-beef hot dog with onions and Cheez Whiz; a meatball sub with house-made meatballs, mozzarella and San Marzano tomato; and Rapoport’s own favorite, “Burto’s”—roast turkey and beef, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Russian dressing.
