Boca is getting another hip new eatery with the coming debut of The Mexican, a south of the border “street food” concept from noted SoFla restaurateur Dennis Max.
Set to open in Royal Palm Place in November, Max said The Mexican will dish out the “border town cuisine” he grew up loving in Southern California. It will also play to the local, sustainable “farm to fork” ethos that rules his excellent Max’s Harvest in Delray.
The 4,000-square-foot restaurant’s design is by Manhas Design of Fort Lauderdale, and will feature private dining, an indoor/outdoor bar and patio dining area.
Chef will be Max Group vet Scott Pierce, whose menu will include an array of tacos, from shrimp al pastor and carnitas to beef and pork meatballs and crispy pork belly, plus slow-roasted beef short ribs, salmon molé verde, rotisserie chicken and fajitas.
