More summertime menus from a quartet of local restaurants:
They’re rolling out a pair of three-course seasonal menus at Vic & Angelo’s in Delray Beach (290 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/278-9570) and Palm Beach Gardens (4520 PGA Blvd., 561/630-9899). At lunch and dinner, Sunday through Thursday, through September, $25 will get you a choice of starters like Caesar salad or fried calamari, entrees like fusilli with sausage and broccoli rabe or chicken Milanese, and gelato or sorbet for dessert. Add 10 bucks more and your choice can be mussels al forno or spinach salad, chicken piccata with artichoke hearts or wild salmon with veggies, and tiramisu or cannoli. Add another $15 and they’ll throw in a bottle of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir.
It’s much the same deal at Delray’s beer-centric hangout, The Office (201 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/276-3600). Here, though, you get two courses for $25 and three courses for $35, both available at lunch and dinner, Sunday through Thursday, through the end of September. Among those courses (whichever prix fixe meal you choose) are deviled eggs, tater tots or chicken shu mai dumplings for starters; Office burger, baby back ribs and ale-battered fish for entrees; and mini ice cream sandwiches, maple-bacon glazed donuts and chocolate bread pudding for dessert.
At the Brio Tuscan Grille in Boca (5050 Town Center Circle, 561/392-3777), CityPlace (550 S. Rosemary Ave., 561/835-1511) and Palm Beach Gardens (2101 PGA Blvd., 561/622-0491) they’re doing the deal at lunch. For a extraordinarily modest $8.95 you get a choice of three seasonal lunch specials; the roster changes weekly, but among those you might find are crispy chicken chopped salad (with greens, tomatoes, feta, cucumbers in lemon vinaigrette and topped with shoestring potatoes) and pasta Yandolino (rigatoni with grilled chicken, spinach, mushrooms, feta and tomatoes and topped with pesto breadcrumbs). There are also salad and flatbread combos for $8.95 too.
And at Mozart Café (7300 W. Camino Real, 561/367-3412) in Boca they’re offering a Summer Seduction Menu of lighter dishes more appropriate to South Florida’s face-melting summer heat and humidity. Look for eggplant terrine with feta, pesto and roasted peppers or hot and cold haloumi salad or pizza Bianca with goat cheese, mozzarella, mushrooms and truffle oil. And speaking of pizza, Mozart is dishing up dessert pizzas too, like the “Caribbean Vacation,” a blend of walnuts, coconut, chocolate chips, pineapple, simple syrup and caramel sauce. It’s enough to make you grab your flips and head for the nearest beach.
