Couple of interesting items from our neighbors to the south. . .
Great big changes for the Grateful Palate restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Saturday was the eatery’s last day of operation at Southeast 17th Street. Owner William McIntyre is incorporating it into a trio of newly purchased properties at 3033 NE 32nd Ave. on the Intracoastal. Grateful Palate Yacht Provisions will continue operations at the new location, while the old Bootlegger tiki bar will later this year become Events by Grateful Palate, a 6,000-square-foot special events venue. Adjacent Shooters Waterfront Café will get a complete indoor, outdoor and menu redo and early next year become Shooters Fort Lauderdale. (The current Shooters will remain open during the process.)
Sip, sample and meet the chefs at four different Las Olas Boulevard restaurants on Tuesday, July 23, when foodie start-up company Dishcrawl holds its first dining tour in Fort Lauderdale. The restaurants will remain a secret until 48 hours before the tour, but you can get details and tickets ($45 per person) at the Dishcrawl website. The walking tour starts at 7 p.m. and only a few tickets are left so if you want to do it, run, don’t crawl to your computer.
