Keep your eyes, ears and taste buds pealed later this year for the debut of a new-fashioned “juke joint” in a historic building in downtown Delray.

That would be The Vintage Tap, which takes over the 1930s-vintage Clearview Lounge at 524 W. Atlantic Ave with the promise of a retro beer garden-concert venue scheduled to open in late 2013 or early 2014. Proprietor Ryan O’Riordan, who also owns Boca’s Black Rose Irish Pub, is renovating the squat, bunker-like space, said to host a “Prohibition-style bar and stage, beer garden and adjacent two-acre amphitheater.”

I’ll be back with more details as they become available, but among the current tidbits are a bar featuring multiple craft beers and vintage sounds on an old-fashioned jukebox and a music program dedicated to offering “the best in local, regional and national acts.”
