Guests gathered in the resort’s Great Hall for an evening of drinking, mingling and fashion. Most importantly, the event helped support a wonderful organization in our own backyard.
Proceeds of the Proper Affair were donated to support the Achievement Centers for Children and Families, a nonprofit organization which assists low-income children and families in Delray Beach.
In addition to delicious bites (including mini Maryland crab cakes and a macaroni station—yum!), attendees had an opportunity to bid on prizes and enter raffle drawings for vacation packages and a glittering diamond necklace.
The main event of the night was Boston Proper’s runway fashion show—debuting pieces of the national brand’s spring/summer collection along a massive catwalk in the center of the hall.
So, what can you expect to see this summer?
Colors: No drab shades this season! We witnessed a blend of corals, teals and neutrals paired together to create fresh, sun-approved looks.
Patterns: In addition to animal-esque prints, we also spotted some must-have indie prints (like the design on the skirt above).
Fringe: There were two shirts and a flirty dress that begged to be moved. We’ve seen the fringe look recently on bathing suits and bags, and we are excited about wearing more of it this summer.
Wide-legged pants: Skinny jeans just feel wrong during the sweaty summer months. Boston Proper showcased a few wide-legged looks-- which look great on all body types and are not constraining in the summer heat.
Bangles: Almost every model had big, bold statement jewelry stacked on her wrist.
Ombre: This head-turning fade look is not just ‘in’ for hair. We saw dresses and shirts that slowly faded from one color to another.
At the end of the show, attendees had an opportunity to bid on all of the outfits shown (including the jewelry and seven inch shoes).
