Southern-style barbecue from West Palm Beach nitelife maven Cleve Mash is coming to Clematis Street next month in the form of Bobbi Sue Bar B Que, a new-fashioned joint with old-fashioned country ambiance set to take over the spot once occupied by star-crossed Reef Road Restaurant & Rum Bar.

Partnering with Mash is buddy and SoFla hospitality industry vet Shannon Miller. Their restaurant is named after Mash’s fiancée Bobbi Sue Ellis and will seat 140 in 4,500 square feet of space, to feature a back porch replica in the rear, old whiskey barrels, holiday lights and neon signs, not to mention plenty of TVs for local sports junkies.

As for the food, dished up will be everything from pulled pork and smoked brisket to fried pickles and fried chicken, plus lighter fare like salads and sandwiches. Mash and Miller also intend to take Bobbi Sue’s ‘cue on the road to competitions and other events via a mobile smoke-cooking rig.

Mash, who owns Dr. Feelgood’s and Lost Weekend on Clematis and Dirty Martini in Palm Beach Gardens, said Bobbi Sue’s will meld a “fun, backyard atmosphere” with “serious barbecue,” a “perfect match for downtown.”
