Delray diners looking for a casual, inexpensive lunch, dinner or take-out meal will be pleased to know that one of Atlantic Avenue’s restaurant fixtures has opened an eatery offering exactly that.

It’s Sazio Express (1136 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/276-2637) a stylish little pizzeria and deli in the space that was once home to Coco’s Café. The look is very modern industro-chic, with off-white tile floors, quilted chrome-topped tables, galvanized sheet metal counters, contemporary wood-and-aluminum chairs, and brilliant spot lighting.

The menu of pizzas, salads and sandwiches is scrawled on blackboards tacked the walls. Pies are sold whole or by the slice, with choices ranging from tomato and basil to Buffalo chicken. Salad range from simple baby greens and Caesar to chicken Milanese and shrimp and avocado, with a choice of four different dressings. Sandwiches and wraps include roast beef and gorgonzola, meatball Parmigiana and Italian cold cuts.

There’s also a pizza window open late on weekends and delivery service through Delivery Dudes.
