Putting “giant” and “shrimp” together may create one of those oxy-type morons, but it’s also a new deal available at Legal Sea Foods (6000 Glades Rd., 561/447-2112) in Boca. The Town Center mall eatery is offering three-course “Giant-Flavored Shrimp Dinners” for $24.95 per person from this Wednesday until Wednesday, Feb. 13. Start with a choice of clam chowder or pasta and bean soup, then pick one of three shrimp dinners (like Cajun shrimp with cheddar cheese grits), and finish with either eggnog bread pudding or chocolate-ice cream bonbons.

If you like a good, locally made cigar (and I do), then you’ll want to check out the Cigars on the Patio Lounge event at III Forks (4645 PGA Blvd., 561/630-3660) and Cantina Laredo (4635 PGA Blvd., 561/622-1223) in Palm Beach Gardens. On Thursday, Jan. 24, from 7 to 10 p.m., both restaurants will be featuring Mya cigars rolled on their shared patio by the West Palm Beach company’s Cuban “tabaqueros.” There will be complementary munchies and tastings of Angostura 1919 Premium Rum and Gozio Amaretto. You gotta buy the stogies, but take my word for it, they’re good stuff.

And over at Big City Tavern (609 E. Las Olas Blvd., 954/727-0307) in Fort Lauderdale, check out the new house-made charcuterie from chef Louis Bossi. There’s pancetta, guanciale, pasciuto, salami and lardo, which may not do a lot for your waistline but will do wonders for your tastebuds.
