American Cancer Society Relay for Life of West Boca Raton

Relay For Life is the nationwide signature event for the American Cancer Society and the single largest non-profit event in the world. It is about a community that takes up the fight against cancer in a way that is a celebratory, fun and a unique experience. Teams are formed from groups of families and friends, co-workers, and civic or religious organizations. Cancer Survivors & Caregivers, are invited to participate in the Opening Ceremony of the Relay For Life by walking the Survivor's Victory Lap around the track. This symbolic tribute honors cancer survivors and celebrates life! If you are or know a cancer survivor and would like them to be honored, please let us know. After the Victory Lap survivors and caregivers are invited to a complimentary dinner. Candlelight/Luminaria Ceremony! Light a candle, or have one lit in your absence, as a memorial to a loved one who has lost their battle to cancer or in honor of a cancer survivor. Fun! 45th Annual K- 12th Grade Community Student Exhibition

From May 6 - 21 (Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Palm Beach and Martin County students are the stars of this stunning exhibition, showcasing the diverse talents of 5 to 18 year olds. From Belle Glade to Stuart, public schools to private, visitors are frequently amazed at the sheer breadth of talent from even the youngest budding artist.

Cocktails & Canvases

Back by popular demand, Night Out: Cocktails and Canvases returns for another evening of fun on Thursday, May 14th, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the courtyard between Shishka Lebanese Grill and Reflections Hallmark. An instructor will be leading a “May Flowers” canvas painting activity in a fun, outdoor setting. Tickets are $10 per person. Admission includes one complimentary beer or glass of wine, paint instruction, light food samplings from Pompano Citi Centre restaurants and live entertainment. There will be two painting sessions (6:30 pm and 7:30 pm), and each session will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, participants who purchase their tickets online will have the opportunity to reserve a session. The exhibition emphasizes scientific investigation and developmental and curriculum-based learning goals for children ranging from two to eight years old. Brazilian Voices - Live Brazilian Jazz

Brazilian Voices, a non-profit organization, is a women’s vocal ensemble that performs for cultural, charitable and educational purposes. Known as 10-time winner of the Brazilian International Press Award for Outstanding Brazilian Musical Group, this women's choir explores the rhythm of Brazil, performing bossa nova, samba and more. Palm Beach County Veterans Committee Annual Memorial Day Ceremony

Please join the Palm Beach County Veterans Committee as we honor and memorialize those who have served our country for the Annual Memorial Day Service at the South Florida National Cemetery. This year, as we recognize the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, we are honored to have Retired Army Colonel Eileen Watson as our guest speaker. During her military career which spanned 27 years, Retired Army Colonel Watson served as an ER nurse in Viet Nam, served two tours in the Pentagon and three overseas. Actively involved in Operation Just Cause, the invasion of Panama, she worked very closely with General Colin Powell, among others. She also commanded the troops who participated in President Clinton’s inaugural. Retired Army Colonel Watson was an integral member of the Central Command in Florida, and continues to participate in numerous panels to talk about her experiences, especially as they reflect women in the military. Free shuttle service provided at Target 5900 Lake Worth Road or Pro Source One 8245 S State Road 7 as there is no parking at the Cemetery during the Memorial Service.

Larry Goldings is a Grammy-nominated pianist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger. Among jazz enthusiasts, his organ trio with guitarist Peter Bernstein and drummer Bill Stewart has been recognized for charting new ground, with synergistic playing and hard-swinging yet thoughtful music.  Golding’s talents have been sought-after by an impressive range of musicians including James Taylor, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Madeleine Peyroux, Tracy Chapman, Ricki Lee Jones, Herbie Hancock, Elton John, and Leon Russell. In 2007, his live album, Trio Beyond - Saudades, received a Grammy nomination for Best Instrumental Jazz Album of the Year.
