What to wear?

One of the first questions we ask when planning for a holiday, is “what are we going to wear?” Lucky you for, we have done our research and know all of the local boutiques carrying the hottest spring trends. Easter is the time of year when you can really start to take advantage of spring to summer style and pastels—lots and lots of pastels. How you should dress depends on how you plan on spend your Easter Sunday. Floral maxi dresses and rompers are always our go-tos. Gone are the days of the traditional Easter bonnet and stuffy uncomfortable dress. Although, wouldn’t an updated Easter bonnet be kind of adorable for us 20 somethings? These boutiques always carry our favorite looks, but have really stepped it up for the spring season.

Three Gorgeous, Versatile Styles to Wear All Spring

COVER

Lilly Robbins and Lindsey Swing (our LLScene girls!)

It’s officially March, which means it’s officially acceptable to wear your favorite spring colors and pastels. As much as we love fall/winter fashion, spring is easier for us South Floridians to identify with.

In today’s post we’re spotlighting our favorite spring looks of the season, beauty trends to look out for and where you can find them in South Florida.

Let’s start with the “Spring Pantone Colors” of 2017.

These are the colors you’ll want to implement into your wardrobe.

Pantone Colors

The easiest way to translate these to your look is through nail polish.

Pantone Polish Colors

(Top Row Left to Right) Opi Fiji Super Trop-I-Cal-Fiji-Istic, Deborah Lippmann Walking on Sunshine, Essie Butler Please, OPI Modern Girl, Deborah Lippmann Splish Splash

(Bottom Row – Left to Right) Essie Baby’s Breath, OPI I’m Soooo Swamped, Deborah Lippmann Between the Sheets, Essie Pretty Edgy, Essie All Eyes on Nudes

All brands & colors can be found at

GBS Beauty 21306 St Andrews Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33468

Seaside Stripes

Channel your inner cabana girl and channel that Nantucket awning into your South Florida style. Grab the girls for a lunch by the beach when rocking this look.

Cold Shoulder Cutouts

A cold shoulder allows you to show a little skin without revealing too much. We envision this outfit making it’s mark during a breezy Sunday brunch on Atlantic Ave. in Delray Beach.

Garden Party

Who doesn’t love floral? Lucky for you, you will start to notice floral popping up in all of your favorite local boutiques. Spring has sprung with these garden party looks!

When Your Boca Kid Has a Better Spring Wardrobe Than You

Looking at photos I took of my daughter the other day, I can no longer deny she may be 3. But she is 3 going on 16. I’m equal parts floored and terrified of the clear vision I now have of her as a teenage girl. A teenage girl in Boca Raton, no less. Pray for me.

HavenGirl Mermaid Tunic – $40 at JoBella Girls Boutique.

Last week, we spent the afternoon at JoBella Girls Boutique

in West Boca to learn about all of the new spring 2017 fashion trends for girls. It didn’t take much convincing to get my little fashionista to model some of the trendier looks in the store.

You see in Boca, fashion for kids is a “thing.” I work at a local private school and host ‘Mommy & Me’ classes, so I see it firsthand. But it’s getting to the point where my child is beginning to have a better wardrobe than I do! How did that happen? I can guarantee you that my mother wasn’t putting much thought into what clothes she purchased for me and my sister during our weekly trips to K-mart in 1987.

Mayoral Chic Denim Combo Dress Light Blue – $57 at JoBella Girls Boutique.

In my pre-Boca mom life, I read all the fashion magazines, researched trends and carefully sourced the “necessary” staples and accessories to make sure I was on point each season. Clearly I had more time (and money) on my hands back then. And now, I still make an effort to put myself together when I’m not wearing yoga pants. Even if it doesn’t always work out perfectly, I just don’t have the time to care that much.

But this is Boca. Our kids are walking talking, representations of how we’re doing as moms. We are challenged by them and win and lose every day. I guess in the end, at least we can control whether our kids look the part. And they look good…

Fashion Ideas for the Honda Classic and Where to Get The Looks

Our fashion sense is anything but preppy at LLScene, so when we bought tickets to the Honda Classic for the #SceneBoys, we immediately started to think about what we were going to wear. Should we channel our inner “country club chic” or go the “athleisure” route? We contemplated these two looks a little longer than we should have, but after asking around and doing a little research, we’ve decided it’s best to stick with the “effortless style” look.

What does “effortless style” mean? Well, it’s basically everything you’ve ever wanted in one outfit. It exemplifies an effortless, yet stylish complement to your everyday look. A big misconception about the style at the Honda Classic is that you HAVE to dress up in wedges or something fancy, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. There’s a lot of walking and moving around on grass, so heels and wedges are unnecessary and out of the question. Don’t look like you’re trying too hard ladies. Here are some examples of what we mean.

It’s that time of year again — Delray Beach Fashion Week! DBFW is one of our favorite weeks of the year because it gives us the opportunity to connect with all of the great fashion and beauty businesses in Delray Beach.

Events will take place throughout downtown Delray Beach and many are free to the public. Tickets for the Delray Beach Designer Show, Fashion Luncheon and runway seats at the fashion shows can be purchased at each event.

Five Best Eco-Friendly Holiday Gifts

Did you know that by buying from local and eco-friendly businesses you can create a tremendous change in our community? In this blog I want to share gift ideas that will make your loved ones happy, support our environment and help entrepreneurs who are passionate about making this world truly a better place.

It’s All Good Organics Body Products

This local boutique company hand-crafts fabulous skincare products that are made with wholesome, real ingredients and of course, with love. Here are three great products that make excellent gifts and stocking stuffers. Face Toner – Unlike conventional toners, this one is actually good for your skin as it has no harsh chemicals. It is made with hand crafted organic rose water that softens and rejuvenates your skin while organic witch hazel helps soothe and heal it.

Face Serum – This little bottle of sunshine is made with calendula oil that can be used daily as face moisturizer. And did you know that calendula is known to brighten your skin and help stimulate the production of collagen? Eye Cream – I love this cream because it is rich in vitamins A, D and E and has fabulous skin-loving ingredients. For example, aloe helps hydrate your skin, castor oil helps with the natural production of collagen, shea butter reduces inflammation and carrot seed oil tightens, nourishes and rejuvenates.

Military Hippie Fitness Clothing

This local, Boca-based company makes quality fitness clothing that will last through tough workouts and stay strong during years of wear, giving you better value out of your purchase.

All of their tees, tanks, sweatpants and sweatshirts are made from natural organic cotton, which offers natural benefits like breathability, antibacterial effects, UV protection and biodegradability. Their yoga wear is manufactured with cutting edge sustainable processes that reduce waste and leave less harmful chemicals on your skin and in the environment. They even use recycled polyester for their yoga pants.

And if you think this new line of fitness clothing is boring or earth-crunchy, think again. Their pieces are absolutely gorgeous and fun to wear. And with all honestly, I now wear their yoga pants to lounge around, not just to workout. After all, it feels good to feel comfy and look fabulous!

Hydro Flask Beverage Containers

image2-1

Did you know that plastic water bottles and cups create an enormous damage to our eco system? Instead of buying water, juices or smoothies when you are out, I suggest making your own and carrying them in a fabulous Hydro Flask. This brand has a terrific array of eco-friendly containers that will keep your beverages at their temperature for 24 hours! I tested this by making my smoothie and keeping it in the flask for a day. It stayed perfectly cold.

My favorite is the wide-mouth bottle that is perfect for all drinks, including blended soups. Because this company has so many gorgeous colors and styles, it is easy to pick the perfect one for your special someone.

Omega 8006 Juicer

If you are looking for a gift that will keep on giving the joy of vibrant health for years to come, then check out Omega 8006 Nutritional Center. What I like about this particular model is that it can juice greens, wheatgrass and fruits without much waste. Pulp comes out pretty dry, meaning that all the liquid was squeezed out. And yet Omega 8006 is also so much more than just a juicer. You can also make sorbets, nut butters or even your own pasta. Talking about versatile! This company is also local and they provide a 10-year warrantee.

Adolfo Domínguez opens at Town Center

“The way we dress is a part of the person we show others,” said renowned Spain-based fashion designer Adolfo Domínguez. “We wear the map of our lives etched upon our features. Clothing as a second skin.”

This idea, complimented by design principles of beauty, poetry and simplicity, are the foundation for Domínguez’s brand-new boutique at the Town Center mall in Boca Raton. It’s only the second store to open in the United States and highlights the designer’s 2016 Fall/Winter Collection for men and women.

“ … We are very excited to bring our second boutique to Boca Raton as the social and holiday season begins,” said Domínguez.

For women, Domínguez returned to casual and functional looks, which is the core nature of the brand. Clothes are colored in shades of light gray, camel, military green, black, navy and pale pink, among others.

Garments range from stylish to staples, including capes, Spencer jackets, long waistcoats, pinafores and more. A touch of English inspiration is visible through Prince of Wales check, Harris tweed and herringbone fabrics. Necklines, sleeves and hemlines are asymmetrical.

For men, Domínguez looked at artistic and bohemian trends for inspiration. These themes are visible in pants and tailored garments.

Navy, khaki and burgundy earth tones are juxtaposed with shades of white, gray, indigo, white and sky blue for menswear. The ‘50s and ‘70s make a nostalgic appearance, too, via collarless shirts and knitted fabrics.

Shoes and accessories are available for men and women along with fragrances and eyewear.

The Adolfo Domínguez brand plans to open another boutique in Brickell City Centre in Miami in the upcoming weeks.
