FAU’s student run record label celebrates 15th anniversary with a night of performances

Hoot/Wisdom Recordings of Florida Atlantic University is proud to announce its accomplishment of 15 years of history with a celebratory concert. Hoot/Wisdom Recordings is a student-run/faculty-supervised record label within the university. Since Hoot/Wisdom Recordings’ inception in the 2002-2003 Academic School Year, there were always two fundamental goals at the base of the organization: To make recordings of under-recorded music, while also providing students with the opportunity to learn more about all aspects of the music industry. Hoot/Wisdom has had much experience, such as producing a series of compilation albums that showcase a multitude of students and musicians who have worked with the label, called ‘CompOWLation’. The record label has produced five student produced compilation albums, 10 EP’s and 15 other commercially available albums. For 15 years, the student-run record label has flourished and they would like to share their accomplishments with a 15-year themed concert.

On February 10^th, 2018, Florida Atlantic University will celebrate the anniversary of the labels’ history and longevity with a concert featuring some of the amazing student and faculty artists who have recorded with the label over the years, including: Alexa Ehrlich; PAJAMA JOSH; Irena Kofman; Kevin Wilt, Stacie Rossow; Trio Nueva Colombia; and Two time LATIN GRAMMY® nominees Quinteto Leopoldo Federico. ¨Also performing will be the FAU Wind Ensemble, conducted by Kyle Prescott, will present works by special guest in residence Bruce Broughton, winner of 10 Emmy awards, an Oscar and GRAMMY® nominee.
