Micki Berthelot Morency, a Haitian American activist and author was born in Haiti and after college became an advocate for the elderly, young, and disabled in Florida. She recently published her first novel, The Island Sisters, and she’ll discuss how her background and struggles as a Black immigrant woman impacted her life and her writing.
