Location: Old School Square, corner of N.E. 1st Street and N.E. 1st Avenue, Delray Beach, FL
The Spady Cultural Heritage Museum and Old School Square welcome everyone to a cultural celebration, recognizing a special date in American and Florida history – commemorating the end of slavery. The Eighth Annual Juneteenth Festival will mark its second year in partnership with Old School Square. Festival-goers will enjoy live music, artistic expressions and demonstrations, story-telling, speakers and food inside the comfort of the Fieldhouse. This year, Juneteenth welcomes the return of storyteller Margaret Newton with the Pasco Baker Concert Choir; local artist Sharon Koskoff, who will oversee youth activities; Palm Beach County visual artists; local youth group performances; spoken word performances; and Old School Square budding artists displays.
Sponsored by the State of Florida Cultural Division, Tourist Development Council, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, and Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency.
