The Fundamentals of Drawing with Pat Crowley
March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; April 6
Each class from 1 to 4 p.m.
The course teaches the basic skills needed for a strong foundation in drawing, and is valuable for people of all drawing experience levels. Working with still life, figure models and the world around us, students will explore the fundamentals of drawing and composition with a special emphasis on breaking down our subjects into their basic forms and structure. These are the “ABCs” of art – the keys to a successful drawing, painting or sculpture.
Pat Crowley was an award-winning political cartoonist and artist director at the Palm Beach Post for more than three decades and a founding sta member of The Hill newspaper in Washington D.C. His cartoons and illustrations were distributed nationally by the San Diego- based Copley News Service and appeared in hundreds of newspapers and magazines nationally, including the Sunday New York Times Sunday Week In Review. He has illustrated ten books.
In addition to painting in his West Palm Beach studio, Crowley teaches painting and figure drawing throughout Palm Beach County.
