Lighthouse Keeper – The Art of Timothy Leistner
The Boca Raton Public Library (downtown) will present the new art exhibition, “Lighthouse Keeper – The Art of Timothy Leistner. Leistner is an award winning artist who has visited lighthouse locations throughout the USA and beyond and paints his impressions of these regal beacons. He sees himself as a “lighthouse keeper” though not in a traditional sense. Timothy Leistner states that the automation of lighthouses has replaced the traditional keepers. As a result, he, as an artist, stands watch to defend and protect these historic wonders. Leistner feels “viewing lighthouses promotes feelings of safety, honor, and hope” which are all needed.
