We don’t need a Memorial Day weekend kickoff to remind us that summer is coming. In South Florida, it might as well be summer all year ‘round. For those of you planning ahead for trips and beach days, we’re here with the swimsuit trends you should be on the lookout for as you start your shopping for summer 2019.

Face the High-Waist

The high-waisted trend expands into swimwear this summer, and we couldn’t be happier because it’s one of the most flattering ways to wear a bathing suit. Designers know what women of all shapes and sizes want these days, and they want to feel beautiful and confident as they show off their curves this summer. This trend lets us do just that.

Summer Rides High

Flatter yourselves and step back into the ’80s because the high-cut bottom is back with a vengeance. This look can be accomplished in a one-piece suit or a bikini—the style of the suit is completely up to you. Our recommendation: Find a suit that flatters you and get a wax or laser treatment before sporting this look. It rides high up the leg.

The Gift of Lift

Though it may not be the most comfortable trend to report on today, the underwire top is one of summer’s biggest swimwear trends. On a positive note, we love the an underwire bathing suit top because of the support and lift it gives to the ladies, so we can’t argue with that. Forgo a little discomfort for the stability an underwire bathing suit top can bring to your life this season.

Sweet Skirts

Summer is all about embracing your feminine and flirty self, so why not implement that into your swimwear wardrobe as well? Sweet skirt embellishments in bottom-wear will be everywhere this season. Look for ruffles attached to the bathing suit or an additional piece you can take off and on as you frolic through your vacation.

Locked in Smocked Suits

Last but not least we have one of our favorite swimwear trends of 2019, the sweet but smocked swimsuit. It’s another flattering look for the summer because the material is light, stretchy and feminine, so you will feel comfortable wearing it all day long. If you are looking for something that will flatter your body, but also keep you comfortable all day, the smocked suit is for you!
