They handle our holiday cards and Amazon packages, and now local mail carriers are collecting food for those in need.

As a part of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, mail carriers from the Delray Main, Boynton Downtown and Boynton Main post offices will be collecting non-perishable food donations for CROS Ministries.

Each participating carrier will leave a postcard for homes on their route sharing that they are taking part in the drive. On Saturday, May 9, locals can leave bags of food to be collected.

The public, no matter where they live, is also invited to drop off food donations at the three post offices:

  • Delray Main, 14280 S. Military Trail
  • Boynton Main, 1530 Boynton Beach Blvd.
  • Boynton Downtown, 217 N. Seacrest Blvd.

CROS Ministries, which has served the community for almost 50 years, provides food through nine food banks in Palm Beach County, including the Neighborhood Resource Center in Delray Beach. Their goal is to collect 25,000 pounds of food through the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Popular and preferred items include canned fruit, peanut butter, canned meat, canned soups, and mac ‘n cheese.
