If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to break a world record, then Fort Lauderdale’s Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) has the summer exhibit for you!

“The Science of Guinness World Records” puts guests into the center of the action, turning curiosity into competition at this new, high-energy experience. Running through Sept. 7, this traveling exhibition reveals the secrets behind some of the most surprising Guinness World Records ever set and challenges guests to re-think what they might be able to achieve.

What does a Guinness World Records have to do with science, you ask? This exhibit reveals the biology, psychology, and mechanics behind many of these record-setting feats. How does someone develop the ability to do 36 consecutive pull-ups using only their pinky fingers? What does it take to create the world’s smallest stop-motion film? What inspires someone to solve three Rubik’s Cubes simultaneously? Throughout the exhibition, guests will discover that behind every astonishing achievement is not magic, but science.
