Delray Beach fitness center PurLife Fitness has closed its facility and adjoining cafe in the Pineapple Grove neighborhood.

PurLife hosted training sessions and yoga classes in its training center and served a variety of grab-and-go health foods at its cafe. It announced the closing on its website and through a note posted on the entrance to the gym.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to close our doors permanently,” the note reads. The note cited “Partners health and profit models and the inability to economically renew our lease, so we could continue offering our members value … Just know that every sacrifice was made, over the 12 years we stood tall here, to survive in a rent heavy district.” [sic]

In the note from management, personal training clients were directed to contact their trainers for information on where to resume services. Clients were also offered the opportunity to continue their memberships at Lift 365, which recently underwent a $1 million renovation and added new equipment. TRX, another Delray Beach fitness center, is offering two weeks of unlimited coached small group classes for $79, plus $100 of the first month of membership to former PurLife members.

UPDATE: In response to the closing of PurLife, Slash Fitness and Luxe Studio are also offering specials for former PurLife clients. Now through the end of June, PurLife members can enjoy complimentary access to both fitness centers. Access includes unlimited strength and conditioning classes, heated sculpt workouts, Pilates, yoga, open gym facilities, and special community events.
