Cuisine U is proud to officially announce our Live Fire Canon on October 19th at The Boca Raton featuring Chef Ben Ford — chef, restaurateur, author of Taming The Feast, and son of Harrison Ford.

This is not a standard grilling class.

This is a full working session inside the live-fire canon focused on:

Live-fire execution and heat management

Building custom fire pits for proper airflow and multi-zone cooking

Wood selection, burn characteristics, and flavor development

Managing fire throughout the cooking process

Open-fire cooking techniques for proteins, vegetables, fruits, and breads

Understanding cuts, fat content, timing, and temperature control

Chef Ford’s background includes working alongside some of the most respected names in modern culinary history including Francis Mallmann, Alice Waters, Nancy Silverton, Mark Peel, and others. His experience bridges restaurant execution, fire craft, butchery, design, and large-format open-fire cooking. Chef Ford is recognized as one of America’s leading authorities in live-fire cooking.

Bonus Working Session Added

For those who want a deeper hands-on experience, attendees will also have the opportunity to join Chef Ben Ford on Sunday, October 18th for a special working session leading into the Canon. Work side-by-side with Chef Ford as the team begins building and laying out the live-fire pit, preparing ingredients, and setting the foundation for the next day’s workshop.

Participants will work alongside Chef Ford during:

Live-fire pit layout and design

Fire structure planning and setup

Ingredient preparation for the workshop

Pre-event fire and cooking preparation

The bonus session will conclude with food and drinks alongside Chef Ford and the team.

Estimated Time: Noon–5:00 PM

Sunday October 18th 1pm to 5pm & Monday, October 19th. Time: 8am to 5pm. Includes, breakfast, lunch, dinner and social hour
