While the brunch mimosa is beloved by many, if you’re looking to level up your brunch experience, Barcelona Wine Bar is just the place for it. It boasts nearly 50 wines by the glass, and that’s just where the fun starts.

Barcelona Wine Bar was one of Sundy Village’s first concepts to open earlier this year, so by now you may have had the pleasure of savoring its tapas or sipping a glass (or two) at its ultra-lively bar. But its recently debuted brunch is worth putting on your radar. Who doesn’t love brunch—an effortless blend of breakfast and lunch dishes with a joyful, unapologetic endorsement of daytime drinking? If you’re looking for something more than your usual omelet-and-mimosa combo, look no further.

At Barcelona Wine Bar, Spain’s passion for tapas and vino is transformed into a brunch culinary journey crafted by Executive Chef Javier Narvaez. Start the Iberian Peninsula foodie tour by exploring its impressive wine cellar with a wine flight. Depending on your level of curiosity about Spanish wines, there are different options, including Trust Fall, the bar’s version of an omakase surprise tasting. Another option is to try a new grape variety, like Garnacha Blanca, Malvasia or Mencía, or an undiscovered wine region within Spain, Uruguay, Chile, France, or Lebanon. There’s even a dedicated sherry menu for fortified wine fans.

The food menu offers an extensive charcuterie and cheese selection that’s perfect for sharing with a group. Or start with the tapas menu, which includes both breakfast- and lunch-inspired plates. The best part of this menu is that there’s no need to decide if you’re craving a sweet or savory dish; you can have both. Everything is small and shareable, including plump olive oil pancakes, saucy jamón serrano benedict, and creamy avocado montadito topped with pickled onions for a satisfying crunch. Infuse lunch into your meal with ultra-crispy patatas bravas dressed in a tangy garlic aioli, spiced beef empanadas, jamón and Manchego croquetas, artichoke hummus and marinated beets in a velvety skordalia sauce made with garlic, olive oil, and almonds. For larger dishes, the traditional paella is on the menu as both a vegetable and seafood option.

While saving room for dessert is key, and the menu offers several sweet options like flan, arroz con leche, and even the famous Basque burnt cheesecake, don’t sleep on the Torrijas on the tapas menu. Traditionally the Spanish version of French toast, the browned bread sits in zesty custard and is topped with strawberries for an airy yet crisp, very indulgent way to end your brunch.

When the wine flights and tapas have been cleared away, guests will be pleased to know that chef Narvaez is continually inspired by the seasons and their fresh ingredients, so his ever-evolving menu will offer new dishes to discover at the next brunch session.
