Mizner Park knows a thing or two about pop-up events, but it’s not every day that the gathering is a parking space.

The City of Boca Raton is partnering with Strong Towns Palm Beach to convert three parking spaces in front of Sloan’s in Mizner Park into a pop-up park, with the goal to “rethink how public spaces can be used beyond traditional parking and explore new possibilities for creating more vibrant, welcoming places.”

Yes, this is one part of the parking lot your mom will be OK with you running in.

Park(ing) Day 2025

The “park”ing spot is open to the public on Sept. 18 from 3 to 7 p.m. It’s the second time that the city is participating in the Park(ing) Day global event; last year, it was also in front of the candy and ice cream shop but only two spaces.

Expect family-friendly activities such as coloring, games, sidewalk chalk, and city swag.
