Celebrity Designer Clothing Challenge for Charity

Calling all fashion lovers! Resource Depot, a nonprofit tackling Palm Beach Countys growing waste problem by rescuing unwanted and excess materials, turning waste into wonder, willhostits first annualMake Fashion Circular Celebrity Challenge wheresix local makers and designersare revamping gently-used jackets for good.Over the last few weeks, these jackets were transformed, using materials and fashion construction techniques, from their original state into one-of-a-kind upcycled pieces using materials found at Resource Depot.

Local participants include designerAmanda Pernawho has previously competed onProject Runway, Alyson Seligman of the popular Instagram/blog The Modern Savvy,designerKristen Alycewhose work has graced the pages ofCosmopolitanMagazineandWPTV Today on 5s Ashleigh Walters who happens to also be an artists.

On Thursday, February 24 from 5-8 p.m.the fabulously upcycled jackets will be revealed and available for bidding through an auction with proceeds benefitting Resource Depot’s environmental arts education programs.
