Mia’s Grille (2399 N. Federal Hwy., 561-338-6388), an eclectic American eatery specializing in healthy, affordable fare grilled over an oak fire, has made its debut on a busy section of North Federal Highway in Boca Raton.
Chef-owner Mia Cabrera is a 16-year veteran of the SoFla restaurant business who opened the modest little eatery as a showcase of the simply prepared, lightly sauced, virtually oil-free food she says helped her lose more than 80 pounds over the last year.
Though you can get a fat, juicy 12-ounce Angus burger or crunchy coconut fried shrimp, the majority of the menu is devoted to lighter afare like turkey bacon-wrapped grilled scallops, penne with grilled shrimp in and veggies in white wine-ginger sauce, and skewers of sourdough, mozzarella and tomatoes grilled and drizzled with white truffle oil.
