The heat is on in Boynton Beach with the coming debut of a second Caliente Kitchen (1500 Gateway Blvd., 561/244-7335), scheduled to open on Cinco de Mayo in the town’s restaurant-rich Renaissance Commons retail-residential complex.
The new Caliente joins the original Delray Beach location, though it will be more than double its parent’s size and feature lower prices (that’s the beauty of greater volume). The menu will be essentially the same at both places, with a few new items at the Boynton eatery, among them tableside guacamole service. Expect the same funky-rustic ambiance too.
A party with mariachi band and other entertainment, plus a variety of food and drinks specials will mark the restaurant’s debut, something you just might see repeated sometime soon in Fort Lauderdale, where proprietor Taylor Smith is looking into opening a third Caliente.
