There’s a new social club in town—and it’s soooooooo Boca.
Union 27 has just opened at 451 E. Palmetto Park Road (the old Lilly’s space) but it’s more than a new dining destination—it’s also a ”social club” founded by several well-connected Boca leaders, including Mike and Amy Kazma, Renee and Kenny Blatt, Robin and Charles Deyo and other community influencers.
The chef at the helm is Cinzia Gaglio and husband Tim (most recently at Osteria Salina in Delray) and the vibe is South Beach bistro, with intimate seating, a cushy outdoor patio and a lot of quartz and crystal, blue and gold, and what one member described as a “sensational” atmosphere.
Although the restaurant will also be open to the public, the idea is to become a member, which gets you a member discount, priority reservations, access to members-only events and member-preferred corkage, should you decide to toddle in with your own vintage wine. An introductory annual membership is $1,200, rising to $2,400 after Dec. 15. So far, there are about 25 members, whom Robin Deyo describes as “movers and shakers in Boca” socially and philanthropically, people “you’d want to hang out with, frankly.”
Is this the equivalent of Boca’s new velvet rope? VIP section? First-class cabin? In this private country club kind of town, it may actually be a concept whose time has come.
