December is always a month of lights and special nights in Boca Raton.

But there’s one night in December that seems to shine the brightest—at least when it comes to the gridiron.

The 11th edition of the Boca Raton Bowl, a postseason college football bowl game owned and operated by ESPN Events, is set to be played Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m. ET at FAU Stadium on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN and broadcast on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3.

“We’re gearing up for another unforgettable Boca Raton Bowl experience. We look forward to a great audience both in the stands and tuning in on TV and radio,” says Boca Raton Bowl Executive Director Doug Mosley.

“Our county is one of the premier sports destinations in America. In fact, the Sports Business Journal recently recognized us as one of the top five sports destinations and there’s no doubt that being home to a postseason college football bowl game really builds to our resume. It leads to events coming here and there’s only about 37 destinations in America that can claim that they’re home to a postseason FBS college football bowl game and the Palm Beaches is one of them,” adds Palm Beach County Sports Commission Executive Director George Linley.

The two teams selected to compete in the 2024 Boca Raton Bowl will be announced on December 8 following the weekend’s conference championship games. The Boca Raton Bowl teams up with the City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and dozens of countywide partners and sponsors to bring this game alive—not just during bowl week, but throughout the year with several spirited lead-in events.

“The City of Boca Raton is again proud and excited to host two of college football’s top teams and their many fans, as well as showcase our city to a primetime audience with millions of eyes,” says City of Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer.

The Boca Raton Bowl has agreements with five conferences (American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference, Sun Belt Conference) plus select independents for berths in this year’s game. The game has logged 10 successful years with cumulative viewership surpassing 30 million households and a total sponsoring value more than $250 million.

More than 50 Boca Raton Bowl alumni have gone on to be selected in the NFL Draft and dozens more have entered the league as undrafted free agents.

“We look forward to welcoming fans from across the country to experience the excitement and hospitality that Boca Raton is known for,” adds Mosley. “This game captivates the spirit of competition and community and the best of college football right here in Boca Raton and the Palm Beaches.”
