Double, double toil and trouble, off on their bikes the witches go!

The 13th Annual Witches of Delray Bike Ride is back Saturday, Oct. 26, with witches hopping on their brooms bicycles in a Halloween tradition benefitting the Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF).

Tapping into their inner Wicked Witch of the West, more than 300 riders are expected to take flight from City Hall, down Atlantic Avenue, and then back to Old School Square. At the square, there will be music and an awards presentation for prizes such as “Best Costume,” “Best Witch Cackle,” “Best Decorated Broom (Bike),” and “Best Group Theme.”

Dr. Diana Carrau, Dr. Francesca Lewis and Marissa Randazzo ride in the Witches of Delray Bike Ride in 2023.

You don’t have to wait until the ride for the party to start, though. The event has expanded this year to include a “Not Your Basic Witch” hat decorating contest on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., hosted by local designer and boutique owner Amanda Perna and Tin Roof. The ACCF will provide hats and decorating supplies; the party will be at 8 E. Atlantic Ave.

On Oct. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m., the team at Tim Finnegan’s Irish Pub in Delray Beach will host its annual “Witches Brew” fundraiser, with raffles, contests, food and drink, and other fun.

And after the ride, Deck 84 and Tin Roof are both offering brunch specials and donating 10% of proceeds to ACCF.
