Get ready South Florida, it’s game time!

James Madison University and Western Kentucky University are set to meet on Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. ET at Florida Atlantic University Stadium for the Boca Raton Bowl. But this isn’t just any bowl—it’s the game that promises to serve up thrilling plays, festive fan entertainment for all ages and plenty of holiday cheer! 

The bowl will be televised nationally on ESPN and broadcast on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3.

“We are excited to welcome James Madison and Western Kentucky to Boca Raton and Palm Beach County for the 11th Annual Boca Raton Bowl,” said Boca Raton Bowl Executive Director Doug Mosley. “This is a great matchup and this game will be a lot of fun to watch. I can’t wait for the teams to get here in just one week.”

James Madison University (JMU) is finishing its second season in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), bringing a record of 8-4 and a fierce defense ranked #1 in the Sun Belt Conference. Western Kentucky University (WKU) is a bowl veteran making its third appearance at the Boca Raton Bowl. The Hilltoppers hail from Conference USA, have a 8-5 record and are no strangers to the big stage.

“It’s definitely a destination spot for us and a place we really will enjoy going back to—this is what college football is all about, we’re really excited to get down there and play that game,” said WKU Head Coach Tyson Helton.

“We’re all very excited about this opportunity, the culmination of the entire season and getting a chance to spend some concentrated time together down at the hotel for those couple of days and to just get back out on the field one more time,” said JMU head coach Bob Chesney.

And it’s not just about the football—Boca Raton Bowl week is a full-blown celebration. From airport arrivals, pep rallies and beach parties to luncheons and community events, there’s fun for everyone throughout Palm Beach County. On game day, the LVL UP Fitness Fan Fest runs from 2-5 p.m. outside FAU Stadium complete with live music, food, drinks, tailgate parties, ESPN Radio live broadcasts, Museum of Ice Cream treats, Cowboy Circus entertainment and more. The Boca Raton Bowl, a postseason college football bowl game owned and operated by ESPN Events, has logged 10 successful years with cumulative viewership surpassing 30 million households and a total sponsoring value of more than $250 million. More than 50 Boca Raton Bowl alumni have gone on to be selected in the NFL Draft and dozens more have entered the league as undrafted free agents. In all, six conference champions and another three conference division champions have played in the game.
