In recognition of her 22 years volunteering with Place of Hope, Jeannine Morris was selected as the 2025 Woman Volunteer of the Year.
She was chosen from a field of 40 nominees from area nonprofits and the award was announced Friday afternoon at the Woman Volunteer of the Year Luncheon at The Boca Raton.
“This is such a distinct honor; there are so many women in this room who volunteer their time endlessly,” Morris said after receiving the award. “It was friendship that brought me to Place of Hope and it’s friendship that brought all of you here today. So support a friend, support an organization, and through friendship we can absolutely move this community forward.”
Place of Hope is a Boca Raton-based nonprofit that provides foster care and transitional housing for children who have aged out of the system. They also offer maternity care, child abuse prevention, and human trafficking prevention programs.
Morris serves on the nonprofit’s board of directors and has also been active with mentoring, cooking classes and other programs with children and teens. She and her husband became licensed respite parents through Place of Hope and fostered eight infants and toddlers before the program lost its state funding. She is also the past president of Place of Hope’s Angel Moms group, of which she is still very active.
As the founder of the Morris Group at Lang Realty, a percentage of commissions go to Place of Hope, Diabetes Research Institute, Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation and other nonprofits. Morris is also the past president of Impact 100 of Palm Beach County.
The Woman Volunteer of the Year luncheon, now in its 38th year, benefits the Junior League of Boca Raton and recognizes women in the community who go above and beyond in their service to community nonprofits.
Stay tuned for an upcoming issue of Boca magazine, when we have an interview with this hometown hero!
