When all three of your children start enjoying sushi and a new sushi restaurant opens around the corner from home, you’ve got one happy momma.
And since figuring out a plan for weeknight dinners is not my strong suit, I was very excited to give Sushi By Bou a try.
The intimate speakeasy-inspired omakase restaurant recently opened in Boca Raton’s Royal Palm Place and is one of 14 Sushi By Bou locations nationwide; another is in West Palm Beach. These Palm Beach County Sushi By Bou locations are all part of SimpleVenue’s portfolio of 18 sister brands to include Sushi Suite, Omakaseed, Fins and Scales and Trust Bae.
Step inside the Boca Sushi By Bou location and find a 1920’s art deco-inspired ambiance paying tribute to Addison Mizner’s legacy, with geometric tiles and quirky monkey-themed bathroom décor and at its core, a sushi bar where it’s tough to find a seat, even on a Tuesday night.

The unique omakase dining experience truly sets this restaurant apart as Sushi By Bou’s seasoned chefs curate tasting menus for you, taking you on quite a journey of flavors and creativity. You can choose from a 12-course omakase for $60 or a 17-course “Bou-gie” upgrade for $125 with delicacies like hamachi (yellowtail), botan ebi (spotted prawn), ikura (salmon roe), hotate (scallop), otoro (fatty tuna), unagi (bbq eel), and the signature Wagyuni (‘surf and turf’).
Like many of us who will frequent Sushi By Bou, partners Erika London and Chef David Bouhadana (who also owns Sunset Sushi and is a partner at AlleyCat) are both Boca Raton residents, with London relocating to the city with her family last year.
Give Sushi By Bou a try, whether it’s family or date night or just a spirits and sushi kinda night with friends. You, too, might be all a-Bou it…!
Visit Sushi By Bou Tuesdays through Sundays from 5 p.m.-12 a.m. at 409 S.E. Mizner Blvd., Boca Raton. Reservations can be made online at sushibybou.com or through OpenTable.
Update: Sushi by Bou Will Donate 100% of All Revenues to israelfriends.us this Sunday, Oct. 15 and Monday, Oct. 16.
