Angelo Elia, whose Casa d’Angelos in Boca and Fort Lauderdale are among the area’s best and best-loved restaurants, will open a Roman-style trattoria and gelato-pastry shop in Delray Beach before the end of the year.

To be called D’Angelo Trattoria, the restaurant will reportedly feature a wood-burning oven that will roast both whole fish and piglet, as well as lusty dishes like pasta with wild boar ragout and spaghetti with white anchovies.

Italian pastries and more than a dozen kinds of gelati will be offered at the accompanying gelateria-pasticceria, which are taking over a totally renovated residence that used to house Carolina’s Coal-Fired Pizza.
