Whether you want to start your own bash or jump into an existing one, Boca’s new Bash restaurant-niteclub (5970 SW 18th St., 561/447-7171) is the place to go.
The two-week-old venue is the creation of longtime nightlife guru John Naimi, who took over the old Gatsby’s restaurant-nitespot and spent a cool half-mil remodeling the place, adding a VIP room, hookah room with 25 different-flavored smokes and billiards room-slash-lounge for when you just want to knock a few balls around.
The space itself can hold around 400 revelers and boasts granite countertops, slate tile floor and lacquered tables with a modern art motif. It’s open Wednesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., with live music and/or a DJ.
There’s a restaurant too, under the direction of former Capriccio’s chef Anthony Alvarez. The menu is pretty straightforward, with starters like fried calamari, chicken fajita nachos and honey-baked brie, plus more substantial plates like pizzas and flatbreads, burgers, shish kabob and pan-seared salmon.
Oh, and “bashed potatoes,†which are sort of like mashed potatoes except a lot more fun.
