Combining fine suds, brew-friendly food and the fun, casual atmosphere of a German beer garden is. . . Biergarten, a spacious restaurant and bar from the owner of Trattoria Romana that’s set to debut in Boca’s Royal Palm Place on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Arturo Gismondi’s new eatery takes over the restaurant-killing space once home to Tulio’s, Chow, Sammy K’s Grille and goddess knows how many others. This one, though, looks like it has some staying power, with 4,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor bars, a half-dozen TVs and giant projector TV, custom-painted mural, space for live music, an upstairs dining area available for private parties and seats for 250 hungry and thirsty diners.

The theme—cuisine and otherwise—is less strictly German than Tyrolean, a blend of German, Belgian, Swiss and even Italian sensibilities. There will be the usual roster of sausages—made in-house—along with giant pretzels are other moderately priced fare from former San Francisco chef Jason Shipman, all washed down with a constantly rotating selection of 20 beers on tap and another 20 by the bottle.

The restaurant proper will sport a whimsical beer garden look, with barrel stave wainscoting, vines hanging off the ceiling, several long communal tables and servers in vintage Tyrolean garb. Prosit!
