As if to prove that you can never be too rich, too thin or have too many upscale burger joints, another purveyor of “fast casual” patties with a pedigree is slated to debut on local shores.
That would be Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries, set to open in November in The Shops at Boca Grove. The Boca Boardwalk will be the chain’s first Florida outlet, to be complemented by a second unit in Orlando to open next year and followed by another 48 units throughout the state of Florida.
The deal with Boardwalk is just what its name implies: fresh, not frozen beef, hand-shaped into patties, plus freshly cut fries, served in a casual, “family friendly” space that looks like a slightly prettified McFranchise burger emporium.
Prices are family (and recession) friendly too, with single four-ounce burgers going for $3.19 and a pair of patties for $4.39. A choice of five cheeses adds another 60 cents to the total, but a selection of condiments and sauces are gratis.
There’s a trio of signature burgers too, like the BBQ bacon cheddar and mushroom-Swiss, plus chicken sammies and wraps, milkshakes, fries and even a kiddie menu. It’s a burger world, and we’re just eating in it.
