Supporters of the Boca Raton Historical Society gathered on the second floor of Saks Fifth Avenue at Town Center mall, eager to find out which restaurants would be participating in this year’s Boca Bacchanal Vintner Dinners.

Now in its 23rd year, the dinners kick off on April 9 with a weekend of food and drink to raise funds for the nonprofit organization that preserves the city’s history.

After mingling over wine and passed bites, guests gathered around the walls that had the hosts’ names painted on them, and below, four fondant-covered cakes in the shape of chef’s toques were presented on pedestals. Always looking for inventive ways to present the restaurant and vineyard pairings—last year they used “The Price is Right” style revolving doors—when the trim was peeled back, the restaurant and vineyard were revealed.
