Boca Raton has been named the 10th most generous city in the country by GoFundMe’s 2024 Year in Help Report.
The report, which released earlier this week, ranks cities based on the number of donors per capita who give to GoFundMe fundraisers. Per the report, more than 25,000 Boca residents donated more than $3 million to various GoFundMe causes, averaging about $115 dollars per donor. Local GoFundMe drives that the report highlighted include a fundraiser in memory of Mayra Brandt, which raised more than $115,000, and a fundraiser for the Costantino family following the death of St. Andrew’s School teacher Chloe Costantino, which raised more than $50,000.
Apparently Florida is an exceptionally generous state, with five other cities in the top 10—Sarasota, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and Doral. Though the combined number of donors in these cities wasn’t enough to push Florida into the top ten most generous states, there’s always next year. In the meantime, help keep Boca’s reputation for giving with a donation to these GoFundMe causes:
