Daniel A. Hostettler is the new president of the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
MSD Partners, which owns the resort, made the announcement on Thursday. In a statement, Coburn Packard, who leads MSD’s real estate group, said, “Throughout Daniel’s career, he has built thriving cultures and exemplary guest service levels and experiences while overseeing complex repositioning projects. Here in Boca Raton, our sights are set on redefining luxury hospitality, and Daniel is undoubtedly one of very few leaders who can partner with ownership to achieve our vision for the property.”
Given MSD’s plans for the resort, “repositioning” sounds understated. Last September, the company revealed plans for a $150 million renovation of the 200-acre property on the Intracoastal Waterway at Camino Real. That will be just the first phase of a transformation that could be complete just before the resort turns 100 in 2026.
For the last 12 years, Hostettler has been president and group managing director of Ocean House Management Collection, in charge of four properties in Rhode Island and another in Lenox, Mass. The flagship is Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. It is one of only four hotels in the United States and 13 worldwide to receive a Triple Five Star rating from Forbes Travel Guide – for the hotel, spa and restaurant – and a double Five Diamond rating from AAA for the hotel and restaurant.
According to a news release, Hostettler will continue serving as North American president of Relais & Châteaux, the luxury hotel chain. “The Boca Raton Resort & Club,” Hostettler said, “is one of the world’s finest properties, and this opportunity will be the capstone of my career.”
