This spring there will be more open-air arts and crafts shows than anyone can count, more wind chimes made out of silverware, more plastic yard herons and collapsible salad bowls and Key West signs than anyone needs.
But here’s a little something different from the we-are-always-thinking folks at the innovative Delray Library. The Delray Beach Library Centennial Committee has organized a public market on Saturday, March 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Delray Beach Library Parking Lot at 100 W. Atlantic Ave.
Think of this as a green market for really smart people, one that will have books—you heard us right—books, as well as jewelry, gift items and more from dozens of vendors. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Library’s 100-year anniversary, taking place in 2013. This is the first official event of the yearlong Centennial celebration, and will raise funds to support outreach initiatives of the campaign.
“Books and Bargains” is free and open to the public. Vendor space is $25 for a 10×10 area, and registration information can be obtained by calling Sandra Dezelan at 954/588-7045.
