It’s not every day you get to have breakfast with the chief of police.

But on Nov. 6, those who support the Boca Raton Police Foundation had the opportunity to do so and it was a celebratory morning for local leaders, community members, and law enforcement professionals.

The 6th annual event took place at the The Boca Raton and provided an opportunity for attendees to connect with police officers, recognize outstanding individuals, and support the foundation’s mission to ensure the Boca Raton Police Department has the best resources available to keep the community safe.

Boca Raton Police Foundation co-Chairs Alan Rose and Nicole Flier highlighted the progress made by the Foundation since its inception in 2015, including raising more than $2.5 million to fund police equipment, training, and community outreach initiatives.

Boca Raton Police Chief Michele Miuccio presented the inaugural Marc Bell Officer of the Year Award, named after the Foundation’s founder, Marc Bell, who recently retired from the Board of Trustees. The award honored Officer Stephanie Casas, whose exemplary Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics (VIN) and human trafficking work earned her the recognition.

The program also included the recognition of Will Morales as the Civilian Employee of the Year. Morales, a background investigator with the department, was lauded for his commitment and professionalism in supporting the police force’s critical work as an officer for many years and, today, his work behind the scenes.

You can support the Boca Raton Police Department this holiday season by donating to a special fund for the retirement care of the department’s K-9 units. This initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader mission to ensure that the brave animals who serve the department are provided with the necessary resources in their retirement.

Here’s how to support the retired K-Fund:

  1. Text K9THANKS to 41444
  2. Follow the prompts to make your donation.
