It may feel like fall in some places, but not in South Florida – not with temps bumping up against 90 and potential hurricanes wandering around in the Caribbean.

Still, that’s no reason the idea of fall can’t inspire a few new dishes for the folks at Capital Grille, who’ve drawn on the ingredients of the Pacific Northwest -a region where fall can seem to last year-round -to create a seasonal menu.

From now until Sunday, Oct. 31, local Grilles (in Boca and Palm Beach Gardens) will feature three of the Northwest’s finest products: halibut, morels and apples in a trio of different dishes. Halibut comes pan-seared with harvest vegetables, morels with beef tenderloin and apples in a tart paired with house-made vanilla bean ice cream.

Over at Ruth’s Chris, which has locations in Boca, West Palm and North Palm Beach, they’re offering a fall-winter “classics” menu, three courses plus a side dish for $39.95. Starters include Caesar salad and crab and corn chowder, entrees feature a six-ounce filet and jumbo shrimp and New Orleans-style barbecued shrimp, sides number creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, and dessert pairs creme caramel with seasonal fruit.
