Falcon House may have flown the coop but there’s a new bird roosting in the historic building just north of Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray.
It’s Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant (116 N.E. Sixth Ave.,561/894-8599), the sixth location for the Florida-based chain. The 75-item menu practically defines “extensive,” ranging from such traditional Spanish snacks as boquerones, tortilla Espanola, octopus a la Gallega and brandy-flamed chorizo to a quartet of paellas, six ceviches and a variety of salads and desserts.
Tapas prices range from $4 to $14, with most in the $8 to $10 area, while larger plates run from $14 to $35. Many dishes can be had in either smaller, tapas-style portion or full entrée size.
The Ceviche folks aren’t kidding around with their wine list either, which features a generous selection of Spanish and Portuguese wines, grouped by region, as well as cavas, ports, sherries, mixological cocktails and sangria made tableside.
Inside, the 130-seat restaurant has kept the famous Falcon House bar and outdoor patio, while maintaining a rustic yet stylish look accented by wall displays of hand-painted plates, whimsical turban-shaped light fixtures and a cold tapas bar.
