Bug hunter alert! If you’re better at catching lobster than cooking them, Deck 84 (840 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/665-8484) has just the deal for you.
With the annual craziness of lobster mini-season coming this week – Wednesday and Thursday, July 27 and 28 – Burt Rapopor’s good-timey Delray eatery says bring in your own fresh-caught Palinurus argus and they’ll cook it up for you, serve it in one of five different ways and give you two side dishes to boot, all for $12 to $15 each.
Choose from grilled with mango butter sauce; steamed with drawn butter; tossed in a salad of tropical fruits, greens and heirloom tomatoes with a citrus vinaigrette; tempura-battered and fried; and served over linguine with basil-cream sauce.
Then choose two side dishes from a list including boniato mashed potatoes, fried plantains, roasted corn, braised callaloo, rice and peas, and grilled asparagus with lemon oil, and congratulate yourself on your bug hunting, if not cooking, prowess.
The offer’s good from the 27th to Sunday, July 31.
