Acknowledging that the old West Delray location wasn’t quite right for DIG’s more contemporary culinary orientation, Greenfield sold the building (which is now Fisherman’s Grill) and took over the Gulf Atlantic Plaza space between Northeast 1st Street and East Atlantic Avenue.
The new DIG (which stands for “Doing It Green”) will take full advantage of the spacious interior, Greenfield said, with a modest renovation creating both wine bar and full liquor bars, a coffee lounge, and delivery and pick-up area. There’s also fountain-side outdoor dining.
Breakfast and lunch service should begin in about two weeks, with dinner service to follow in November. Among the early and midday offerings from new chef Alex Rodriguez will be organic egg dishes, croquet madame and eggs Benedict; the dinner menu is still under construction.
