Last Friday saw the debut of Joey Giannuzzi and Robert Greenfield’s new “healthy gourmet comfort food” eatery DIG (5199 W. Atlantic Ave., 561/638-0500) in the former Greenfield’s space in West Delray.

DIG, an acronym for “Doing It Green,” expands on Giannuzzi’s healthy, natural, seasonal and environmentally friendly ethos that has made his West Delray Green Gourmet café and to-go emporium one of the most popular eateries in the area.

Among the items on DIG’s menu of “clean green cuisine” are grass-fed beef short ribs with organic seasonal vegetables, all-natural turkey meatloaf, locally grown heirloom tomato salad with house-made mozzarella, and burgers ranging from bison to veggie.

There’s also customizable hummus prepared tableside, an organic juice and smoothie bar (plus more adult libations made with organic spirits), and a variety of breads and desserts made in-house.
