Santa has less than a month to fill out that red suit, so it’s no surprise that he’s accepting a gracious offer to fuel up and meet some local children at the annual “Breakfast with Santa” at the Delray Beach Marriott (10 N. Ocean Blvd.).
Mr. Claus rolls in to town Dec. 15 for four different seating times — 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon. After Santa has his haul, children and parents can enjoy scrambled eggs, hash browns, blueberry muffins, juice and coffee, as well as cookie decorating from the good people at Old School Bakery.
This is a reservation-only event; tickets, which are $12 each, are on sale through Dec. 13. Call 561/-279-1380, ext. 12, to reserve your seat.
NOTE: On Dec. 2, the “Breakfast for Santa” organization makes a difference at the Boca Raton Marriott (5150 Town Center Circle, Shops at Boca Center) with its annual toy distribution for more than 200 underprivileged children from South Florida.
BRUNCH AT THE MANDARIN: On the heels of the completion of its new pool lounge area, Mandarin Oriental, Miami (500 Brickell Key Drive; 305/913-8358) is adding to the allure with a new Sunday Brunch that starts this weekend (Dec. 2). The brunch, held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will be available at the pool and beach areas of the resort. The menu includes everything from made-to-order omelets and sushi to stone crab claws, salads and a carving station — as well as pastries from chef Frederic Monnet. The cost is $55 (children 6 to 12 eat for $25; children under 6 dine for free) — and includes a glass of Champagne for adults.
