With Spring Break only days away and Florida hotel prices soaring (or even sold out) due to demand, I have tried to get creative with our upcoming family travel plans. I’ve researched rental homes, cruises, you name it! But the one thing I didn’t consider? Camping. I’m more of a glamping gal…or even an “outsidey” versus “outdoorsy” gal. I enjoy a good hike and then heading inside to air conditioning and a hot shower. But with a cozy staycation or scenic road trip across the Sunshine State on my travel to-do list for this year, I’ve found another great option: Kampgrounds of America (KOA).
Why KOA, you ask? These campgrounds have come a long way from when we current parents were kids. Here’s why you should consider KOA for your upcoming travels…
Diverse Accommodations for Every Boca Family’s Taste

First off, KOA understands that every family has its unique camping style. Whether you’re the traditional type who loves pitching tents under the stars, a luxury seeker looking for deluxe cabins (a.k.a. this Boca mom), or someone who wants to try something a bit different like glamping or RVing, KOA has got you covered.
With 25 amazing campgrounds spread across Florida, including gems like St. Petersburg/Madeira Beach KOA Holiday and Orlando/Kissimmee KOA Holiday, they have some great and diverse choices!
Prime Locations for Memorable Getaways

Location, location, location! KOA campgrounds in Florida are strategically placed near some of the state’s most breathtaking natural wonders and attractions. Ever dreamt of exploring Florida’s natural springs, visiting Cape Canaveral, or soaking up the sun at Clearwater Beach? KOA serves as the perfect base camp for all of these adventures and more.
Fun for the Whole Family, No Matter Your Age

One thing we admire about KOA is how they make sure there’s something fun for everyone in the family. From cooling off in swimming pools and pedaling around on bike rentals to enjoying outdoor cinemas and kayaking, each campground literally has a treasure trove of activities. Time to get your kids off their screens and outside!
Road Tips Are Trending

Here’s something interesting for all you Boca trend-watchers: While camping and road-tripping have always gone hand in hand, projections for 2024 show that road trips will continue to outpace camping in popularity among travelers, with a 10% higher likelihood of participation (59% vs. 49%). So, packing up the car and setting off for a KOA campground sounds like the cool thing to do if you ask me…
Happy Camping!
